GEDOM has a definitive concession for the installation and operation of renewable energy in the Dominican Republic.
Matafongo
The Matafongo wind farm, in the southwest, has an installed capacity 50 MW. After the addition of the last 3 wind turbines, the biggest in the Caribbean, it will generate more than 150 GWh each year, providing energy to more than 60,000 homes. In addition, it has a 1.5 MW solar park for its own consumption.
Los Granadillos
Los Granadillos wind farm, in development in the northwest of the Dominican Repubic, will have a capacity of 50 MW. It will generate approximately 153 GWh per year, providing energy to more than 62,000 homes.
It is estimated that together the two wind farms will eliminate 88,235 tons of CO2 emissions each year.
