InterEnergy Group Announces the Appointment of Marcelo Aicardi as Chief Operating Officer (COO)

InterEnergy Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Marcelo Aicardi as its Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, Aicardi will oversee the group’s operations across its diverse markets, with a strategic focus on driving sustainable growth, optimizing efficiency, leveraging synergies, and enabling scalability.
Aicardi brings over two decades of leadership experience in corporate strategy, financial management, and operational execution at multinational companies. During his tenure at AES Corporation, he held senior positions including Vice President of International Mergers and Acquisitions, President for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, and Chief Financial Officer for South America, as well as CFO roles at AES Dominicana and AES Argentina. He also served as CEO of Empresa Generadora de Electricidad Haina S.A., and previously as CFO of Basic Energy.
He holds a degree in Accounting from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (Argentina), and has completed executive programs in Leadership, Strategy, and Finance at leading institutions including the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and Yale University.
In his new role, he will report directly to InterEnergy Group’s Chairman and CEO, Rolando González-Bunster. “We are excited to welcome Marcelo to our executive team. His strategic vision and extensive experience leading operations in complex markets will be key to driving our evolution and sustainable growth across all the markets where we operate,” González-Bunster said.
