Smart Buildings

Using Smart Grid and Smart Metering technologies, Smart Buildings are used for monitoring, control and operation of building power systems such as air conditioning, heating, pumping systems, elevators, access points, surveillance and lighting, that seek to guarantee the optimal use of energy and the safety of the facilities.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) estimates that buildings and buildings construction sectors combined account for almost one-third of total global final energy consumption and nearly 15 percent of direct CO2 emissions.

Integrating smart technology into new buildings and retrofitting existing sites is key to limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C this century in line with global treaties such as the Glasgow Climate Pact and the landmark 2015 Paris Agreement.

Modern buildings must continue to pursue comfort and functionality while being designed, built and operated sustainably.

Smart buildings apply information and communication technologies (ICT) with the aim of providing infrastructures that guarantee:

  • A sustainable development.
  • An increase in the quality of life of citizens.
  • Greater efficiency of available resources.
  • An increase in the quality of life of citizens.
  • Active citizen participation.
We are private power pioneers: wherever we invest, we play an important role in the economic and social development of countries, markets and communities.
