Marcelo is the Chief Operating Officer of Interenergy and leads and optimizes the group operations accross countries driving efficiency, scalability, promoting synergies, sustainable growth and long-term value creation.

Prior joining Interenergy Group, he held leadership positions at AES Corporation, where he served as Vicepresident of International Mergers and Acquisitions; President of Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean; Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the South American region where he oversaw operations across four markets (Chile, Argentina, Brazil, and Colombia); and previously CFO of AES Dominicana and AES Argentina.

Before his tenure in South America, Mr. Aicardi was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Empresa Generadora de Electricidad Haina S.A. (EGE Haina) in the Dominican Republic. Prior to that, he had served as CFO of Basic Energy.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR – Argentina) and has participated in executive development programs focused on Leadership, Strategy, Finance, Corporate Governance, and Risk Management at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, and Yale University.
