March 15, 2024 – In commemoration of International Women’s Day, InterEnergy and its companies celebrated the ongoing “Women in Energy” campaign with a series of internal and external activities aimed at empowering women and highlighting their pivotal role in advancing towards a sustainable future.
Now in its third year, this initiative has effectively raised awareness about gender equality and inspired concrete actions to drive progress, underscoring InterEnergy’s commitment to cultivating a workplace culture where diversity thrives. This ensures that every individual, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities to contribute significantly to our mission of promoting sustainability and innovation in the energy sector.

A key event of the campaign was a panel discussion featuring prominent Dominican journalist Edith Febles. The discussion centered on the media’s crucial role in shaping a conscientious narrative on gender issues.
Helena Sáenz, Senior Manager of Communications and Shared Value at InterEnergy, commented, “We believe in the transformative power of awareness and collective action. Collaborating with leaders like Edith Febles allows us to drive meaningful change in media representation.”
Titled “From Awareness to Action: Media Responsibility in Gender Coverage,” the event brought together over 50 media professionals from the Bávaro Punta Cana area at Evergo Connect, the Caribbean’s pioneering electric vehicle charging station.
During her presentation, Febles highlighted prevalent sexist stereotypes in Dominican media and stressed the importance of promoting inclusive language and practices.
Throughout March, InterEnergy also celebrated local women who have made significant contributions to community development. These individuals were recognized for their inspiring stories of perseverance and dedication to advancing equality and progress in their communities.
