Director of Operations
Tito Sanjurjo has over 30 years experience working in the energy sector. He began his career with Georgia Power Co., a subsidiary of The Southern Co., in the city of Atlanta. As Southern started its expansion into international markets, Tito opened its first international office in Mexico City. The Southern Co. appointed him as General Manager of EDELNOR in Chile where he served as CEO for 2 1⁄2 years. During his time at EDELNOR doubled the size of the company and placed its first bond in international markets.
In 1998 he accepted the position of Vice President of Reliant, Houston, Texas where he was responsible for the purchase of electric distribution assets for approximately $3 billion dollars in value.
In 2002 he joined Globeleq as Director of Acquisitions. In May 2003, Globeleq asked Tito to serve as CEO of EGE Haina. Tito served as the CEO of EGE Haina for 10 years guiding the company thru some of its most turbulent times. Also, after stabilizing the company placed a very successful bond offering, 144-A, that was 1,000% over subscribed.
As Country head for Basic Energy leads CEPM and EGE Haina to install the first wind power in the country and the largest in the Caribbean, inaugurated in late 2011. In addition, under his leadership, EGE Haina launched the expansion of its generating capacity by more than 50%. In 2013 EGE Haina inaugurated the largest generating complex in the Dominican Rep. 415 MW half belonging to EGE Haina the other belongs to PVDC, the largest gold mine in the region. In June 2013, left EGE Haina and focused on the development of a Floating Gas Terminal to feed 900 MW of generation assets in the San Pedro de Macoris area.
In Dec. 2014 Sanjurjo joined IC Power as VP for North America, Central America and Caribbean. While in this role closed on the acquisition of three generating companies in Central America and the Caribbean. Additionally won the rights to a PPA in Panama for 80 MW contract that involved the move of two existing barges of IC Power.
In February 2015 Tito re joined InterEnergy Holdings as Managing Director responsible for asset management as the company grow its regional presence.
Sanjurjo was born 1954 in Santiago, Cuba and is a naturalized U. S. Citizen. Graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a BS in Industrial Engineering and holds an MBA from Georgia State University.
